REC TTT March Update

We now have 12 teachers regularly using their blogs to post updates, with four more to come on line soon!

We had a GPS session at our 2-day Gimli inservice where teachers learned how to use the new GPS units. These should be great for Phys Ed and Geo classes in particular, but the science classes may also find use for them.

We are currently dealing with the lack of DVD viewing software on the TTT machines. I know a number of teachers would like to be previewing videos on their computer in heir prep area before showing them, so we want to get that done.

We also need to get permission to install CD/DVD burning software on the TTT computers so teachers can back up their files.

The last sets of exams are done. Now it's time for marking and preparing the albs and courses for next semester. We will also do some PD for staff relating to the gradebook and communication tools.

New computers have been moved into the PC multimedia lab. These are multimedia PCs that are replacing the regular PCs that came by mistake during the rollout.

Jan 15 - 19

We are preparing for and starting exams this week - these are exams that are held in class during the regular class time.

Jan 8 - 12

Almost all computers are in place - - now it's a matter of working out the details like where people are printing, how to get the wireless projectors booked and working and in-servicing teachers on how to use the new technology to best advantage. We need to get beyond just basic presentations to actually teaching and learning and communicating effectively.
